There’s a societal expectation and assumption on who we are and how we present visually vs how we see ourselves, and who we truly are. The texture in this piece represents the layers withn while the colours amount to shades of grey, referencing the conversation of conflict and depth. The figure glances upwards; open, vulnerable and exposed to the world around. The voice inside, cold and self critical. If only they could see the warmth in themselves that other see.
