In visting the idea of portraiture, and how the world perceives you, I decided the only perception I cared about were my people, and how they define me, helps me define me. Helps me grow.
The koru, symbolic of life in this piece represents both beginning and ending of it. The left is myself, my husband, my daughter. To the right, my two sons, who never were - yet will always be.
